Keeping up with news on the market

As a current lister of a home in the metro Detroit area, I was intrigued by the feature in the Sunday Detroit Free Press about this market.

I'm also intrigued to see what the Fed's plans are after the announcement this morning that action needs to be taken to slow the number of foreclosures. More than anything, the foreclosures in Metro Detroit have negatively impacted prices of homes.

Front porch upgrade

After looking at the front porch railing and realizing it was beyond repair, we decided to completely replace the railing. Putting new phlanges on the bottom would have just been a band-aid and we didn't want to leave the next owner with that problem or have anything happen when someone was going up the front steps. We found a great deal on the materials and my dad graciously installed everything. We decided to leave it black rather than paint the entire fence white. Regardless of the investment, we feel a lot better knowing the front porch is safer now.

House listed - basic information

Our house is now listed.

Kitchen - Completely custom, hand-built kitchen cabinets. Dishwasher and double sink have been added as well. Plenty of cupboard and counter space.

Hardwood floors have been re-finished throughout the house. Large, open living and dining room area.

Large master bedroom with ceiling fan.

Second bedroom is also spacious with a new ceiling fan.

Third bedroom also works as an office.
